Darlene Hill-Parks is the Senior Real Estate Paralegal with Miller Lavoie LLP, where she assists lawyers and clients with commercial real estate and multifamily finance transactions, including acquisition, disposition, development, and financing transactions relating to hotels, multifamily residential developments, office complexes, restaurants, and other commercial developments. Her duties include review of due diligence items, including comprehensive title, survey, and zoning matters, as well as preparing objections and curative documentation. She also drafts and manages closing documents. She has over 35 years of legal experience.
Ms. Hill-Parks also has significant experience working with secured creditors, borrowers and equity holders in all aspects of loan modifications, loan workouts, restructurings, refinancing and bankruptcy matters, including loan document analysis, secured transactions under Article 9 of the UCC, forbearance agreements, purchase and sale of Notes; asset sales under § 363 of the Bankruptcy Code, foreclosures, confirmation actions, receiverships, writs of possession, and bankruptcy litigation relating to fraudulent transfers, preferences and claim issues. Ms. Hill-Parks has also worked in the practices of civil litigation, insurance litigation, probate litigation and construction litigation. She began her career assisting with felony jury trials while employed at the District Attorney’s Office in Washington Parish, Louisiana.
