Duncan Miller represents operators, developers, lenders, and investors in every aspect of the commercial real estate industry. He has extensive experience working with clients to strategize on a business plan to accomplish their goals. Whether planning and structuring individual transactions or assisting our clients in developing a long-term strategy to maximize financial flexibility, Duncan has worked with some of the largest private real estate owners and investors in the country since their inception. He represents clients in the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of hotel, office, industrial, multifamily, retail, and mixed-use properties.  

Duncan also has extensive experience representing borrowers, lenders, and investors in complex mortgage loan debt and equity workouts and restructures.  Since the “Great Recession,” he has been on both sides of the table (borrower and lender) to help facilitate a resolution for troubled assets.  Duncan has bought and sold mortgage loans for clients nationwide, working with some of the largest banks, private funds, community banks, and real estate owners and operators.  

Duncan grew up in Syracuse, New York, and has been moving South ever since. First, a stop in Durham, NC, for college, a short stint in Washington, DC, for law school, and then down to Atlanta, where he has practiced law since 2003. Duncan and his wife, Merrit, live in Sherwood Forest, where they are raising their three boys, Colin, Reid, and Bobby. Duncan has been an assistant lacrosse coach at the Lovett School for 20 years and spends the rest of his time coaching and driving his kids all over Atlanta for football, lacrosse, and basketball games and practices.
